It All Begins With a Spark

​​Avery Armstrong has studied at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music's Pre-College Division since 2019, where she began with Annamarie McCarthy and currently studies with Dr. Chia-Lin Yang. She enjoys chamber music, choir and composition.

Outside of music, Avery is active in academics and her community. She received the President’s Volunteer Service Award in 2024, and was honored to be in the top 5% of participants in the AMC 8 math competition.

Musically, she has participated in numerous international competitions and recitals, including:

She has performed in many world-renowned venues, including multiple performances at New York’s Carnegie Hall and charity events including multiple years as a featured soloist in San Francisco’s Flower Piano festival. Earlier in 2024 she was honored to perform as a soloist with the Central Oregon Symphony.

Aside from piano, she enjoys reading books, playing chess with friends, table tennis, singing, and biology In her free time, she likes to volunteer at local animal shelters and with senior citizens.
